We are a wild equine RPG set in the past; a time when cowboys and indians were still around and the world had not been so tainted by the presence of the human race. Because of this the equine of Illyria rarely encounter humans, although there are many horses that have travelled here from distant parts of the world that were not so lucky.
Only crossbreeds are allowed to be joined for free. However, we do allow purebreds to be bought using Silver ($), which is earned by posting. We allow all natural equine colours, which do not need to be breed specific. So if you've ever wanted to play a painted friesian or an appaloosa andalusian then this is the place!
Have a look around, and hopefully you'll decide to stay. ^_^

The time has come for me (Moth) to say goodbye. :(
No doubt you have all noticed my horrible lack of activity lately, for which I apologise profusely! Unfortunately my life has changed drastically over the last couple of months, leaving my current circumstances and my future very uncertain in many ways. Sadly this means I will no longer have time for Illyria, or even for being online in general, which simultaneously breaks my heart and makes me extremely angry. Illyria was not my first go at running an RPG, but it has definitely been my most successful – which I know is entirely due to Masque and my other wonderful staff, as well as all the amazing members. If not for all of you Illy would have fizzled up and died, and I cannot thank you enough for putting your trust in me and giving Illy a go.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Masque, who often found herself running the place at short notice. There is not a co-admin in the world like her, and I will never be able to repay her for her loyalty and limitless patience. I could not be leaving Illyria in better hands, and knowing that she will be taking the reins goes a long way toward easing the heartache I feel inside.
From today onwards Masque will be the sole owner of Illyria. She will be taking over the main account, and will thereby become the Admin of Illyria.

Things are moving along great, everyone! It's Spring, so don't forget to get your foal stats up if you're hoping for a foal in Autumn. That said, everyone remember to age up your foals from Autumn to make way for the new foals!
Kinu is up for claim, due to inactivity. We ask that whoever decides to claim it remain active. The posting requirement is at-least 1 post within a 4 day limit. Remember that the more active the site is, the better it is, because Moth and I are willing to open up to Mingle Boards, as well as new lands, if the activity is high enough!
Also, take a peek at the ideas thread as well as the Silver Earning thread! You earn silver for every idea you come up with that we implement on the site! Your ideas count, as they help shape and mold Illyria! Also, anyone who had received silver and do not see their name on the Silver account thread, please PM me or another staff member! I've been lax about updating that board, but I want to make sure that everyone is accounted for and no one misses out on the silver the rightfully earned!

Apparently Proboards is having quite a bit of trouble lately with people attacking their servers, so if you ever have trouble loading Illyria it's not because we've banned you without warning. If you've been banned you will still be able to load the site, but will see something similar to THIS where you would normally see all the boards. So yeah - don't fret. Illy will return as soon as the attack is controlled by the proboards team.
Thank you to Egg for being my banned guinea pig and providing the screenshot. ^_^

A few new rules have been added, as well as a few rule changes -- all in bold. Please make sure you read them all.
[justify]A large beach that begins and ends in sharp, rugged cliffs. Sand dunes create a barrier between the beach and the coastal grasses that soon merge into a forest of contorted trees.
[justify]A medium sized hill of grass that is topped by an odd array of boulders. These boulders are perched upon one another, and when the wind is strong it howls through the gaps between the rocks.
[justify]A large forest that always seems to be shrouded in mist. Vines and flowers hang from mossy boughs. There is also a small pond surrounded by ferns.
[justify]A large, lush valley surrounded by unscaleable rock walls. There is only one entrance into this secluded land; a narrow tunnel that passes through the northern cliff face. Beyond the cavern there lies a small, spring fed pond, a large pine forest, and a medium-sized cave.
[justify]A lush rainforest, complete with a crystal clear pool and long-fronded ferns. The air here is always humid, sunlight finding it difficult to penetrate the thick canopy of leaves.
