GENERAL;01. Use your common sense. By now you should all know what’s allowed and what isn’t. Respect each other, stay active, no god-like characters, etc.
02. If you break a rule you will be warned. Your fourth warning will result in a site-wide ban, with the length of that ban being determined by the severity of your actions.03. Make sure your posts are of good quality. Long crap and short crap just makes people angry. As long as you give the repliers something to work with, make sense, and have correct spelling/grammar then we're happy.
04. Make sure people know who you’re posting with, either by including their stats with your IC posts or by linking to an updated log from your signature. This rule WILL be strongly enforced.
05. One account per member.
06. Liquid time is allowed.
07. One game season equals three real life weeks.
08. Swearing IC is allowed, providing it is not too excessive. Swearing OOC will not be tolerated.
09. Characters must be approved by staff before being posted elsewhere.
10. Do not reply to threads with "post coming" or unfinished posts. It stops other people from replying and thereby reduces activity. If you do not have the time/muse to create a full reply then wait until you do. This goes for both open AND private threads.
11. Tables or images cannot exceed 750pixels in width, as this causes the boards to stretch. If you break this rule you will be warned, and the offending images/tables will be removed and are not to be posted again until they are fixed.
12. All manipulated images used on Illyria MUST have credits clearly visible - either on the image itself, or on the full version if the image is clickable. Any non-stock (google, photobucket, etc), non-manipulated images may only be used once in a character's application. Any stock images (deviantart, flickr, etc) may be used without restriction as long as credit to the stock owner is visible on the image and the stock owner allows non-manipulated use. The only exclusion to this rule will be avatars. This rule will be strongly enforced as it is a condition within Proboards Terms of Service.
IN CHARACTER;01. You may create no more than 4 characters. The more active you are with in character posts, you will be granted the right to create more characters. This rules does not count for characters born to those already on the site. With every 30 in character posts you may create a new character. This is to insure that the characters you create remain active.02. Only crossbreeds can be joined for free. You may either list the breeds included in the cross, or simply call the horse a crossbreed, mutt, mongrel, etc. Registered breeds that are known crosses (anglo arab, warlander, pintabian, etc) may be joined for free, provided they are listed as a cross (andalusian x friesian) and not as the registered breed resulting from the cross (warlander). Other specifics, such as eye colour and coat colour, can be found above the App form on the Character Apps board.
03. All horses must be below 17hh, and above 14hh. Only purchased purebreeds or their offspring may be excluded from these limits.
04. Colours and markings that are normally non-hereditary in real life (brindles, bird catcher spots, etc) can be passed onto foals to make things more interesting.05. Extreme power playing will not be allowed. Nipping, touching and other interactive basics are fine.
06. Only stallions may claim land, and they must be 3yo+ to do so.
07. A stallion that claims or wins land is known as a King; the mare he chooses to rule beside him is known as a Queen. The sub-ruler of a herd (if it's allowed) is known as a Duke; the mare he chooses as his mate is known as a Duchess.
08. Only one King per person. Queens/Dukes/Duchesses are decided in character, so there is no limit on them.
09. Only Kings and Dukes can claim and steal other horses that are 1yo+.
10. Force breeding by stallions that don't own land can only be done on boards that say it is allowed in the description.
11. Kings (and Dukes if given permission by their king) may force-claim or force-breed any mare that trespasses on their land, as well as being allowed to power-play to a small extent in order to herd unwanted visitors from their land.
12. Kings and Dukes also have full control of their herd members (Duke only the Duchess and lower ranks), no matter what land they're in, and may force-breed or power-play to a small extent in order to keep their herd members in line. Power-playing examples include inflicting mild wounds, dodging any retaliation, mounting and dismounting in the same post and herding. This is to make sure the higher ranks are respected as they should be.
LANDS;01. New lands will be added as activity warrants, or you may challenge for one or buy one from the Store.
02. All lands must have an up-to-date rank thread posted. Failure to keep this thread updated could result in loss of land.
03. It is up to the King whether or not he allows a Duke within his herd, as well as whether or not that duke is allowed a small sub-herd of his own mares, or only his mate and heir. The King may demote his Duke for any reason. 04. There can only be ONE sub-herd per land. Any other stallions within a herd are only permitted to have one mare, which would be their mate.05. Battles for herd ranks may or may not be allowed, depending on the King’s personal preference. If allowed, they must happen within that land. The King will decide terms (how many attacks/dodges/etc) and the victor.
06. Kings must be posted IC as often as possible.
You must post once in every 4 day time frame, unless your lead is actively in 3 or more threads, in which you get a week to post or your character will lose his land due to inactivity.07. If a king loses his land due to inactivity then his herd members must remain within that land, and will automatically belong to the new king.
08. When a land is claimed by a new stallion he is safe from challenge for one real life week.
09. In the event that a herd leader goes inactive, his land will be put up for claim. The first stallion's claiming post will win then the land. REPRODUCTION;01. Breeding happens in spring and autumn, and is done by both players posting stats on the Procreate board. If the stats aren’t posted then the breeding will be void. Playing it out is optional and if done must be non-graphic.
02. Foal stats will be given once the stats of both parents are posted.
03. Foaling is done in autumn if the foal was conceived in spring, rather if the foal is conceived in autumn, it is born in spring.
04. To give birth the player of the mare must post the given foal stats on the New Life board. If the stats aren’t posted, then the foal won’t exist.
05. Foals will age normally once birthed.
06. Once your mare has foaled, she may not do so again for one full year. Example: your mare births in spring, so she'll not be able to breed that autumn.STEALING;01. Kings and Dukes may steal other herd members providing they are 1yo+.
02. The stealer must make a post on the Theft board which includes a riddle or poem giving hints to the mare they are stealing. Hints must include clues to the mares name, whether it's toward the meaning of her name or her name is spelled out in a pattern in the riddle/poem. Steals must also include hints toward the herd leader as well as the land the mare is being stolen from. In the same bounds, a steal may include hints to her appearance, clues to things having to do with her i.e. hints to stars and space for a character named Galileo.
03. Each herd lead is allowed 2 guesses as to who is being stolen. They must give a reason as two why they think their mares are being stolen i.e. pointing out what they believe the answers to the hints and the riddle If, in two days, the riddle was not correctly guessed it will be deemed valid.
04. Stolen characters are out of bounds for two weeks.
05. If Caely or I feel the riddle is/was too hard to guess, or too vague we reserve the right to declaire the steal invalid.
6. Before a new/returning member maybe STEAL/CHALLENGE for a land, they must have been active for TWO WEEKS (14 days) and have ten (10) posts or two (2) threads with their character.
FIGHTING;
01. Fight outcomes are based on the following:
0/5 grammar (correct spelling, punctuation, etc)
0/5 quality (flow of writing and overall readability)
0/5 attack (how well written the attacks were)
0/5 defence (how well written the reactions to attacks were)
+4 for being a land owner
The given scores and bonus points (if applicable) will be added up to form a total and the player with the highest total will win. In the event of a tie both opponents will be asked to choose a number between 1 and 10. Staff will continue to click on the True Random Number Generator located in the header of the Staff Only board until one of the numbers is rolled - and the opponent that picked that number will be the winner.
02. Fights (for everything but herd ranks) may only happen on the Blood Arena board, and the subject for every battle thread must include the opponents names (eg. Frank vs Ruben). The first post of every battle thread must include: ranks of those involved, prize, game year, and game season.
03. To challenge a King for their land you must have a post count of 20 or above. If you have this then begin a thread on the Blood Arena board with the opponents names included in the subject (eg. Frank vs Ruben), as well as any other required info. DO NOT inform the king of your challenge in any way - it is their job to keep any eye on the battle board. If the challenged king fails to reply within two real life days (unless posted away) then the challenger will win by default.
03. Each opponent gets two attacks and no dodges. One attack per post.
04. Attacks MUST be aimed. Any mention of an attack connecting constitutes power-playing and will result in an immediate disqualification.
04. If an opponent fails to reply within two real life days (unless posted away) during any part of the fight then they will automatically lose. Nothing worse than a fight that drags on forever because people are slow in replying.
05. A herd leader cannot be fought again for three weeks (or one whole season).
PLEASE NOTE;
If you join Illyria you agree to abide by these rules.
Breaking a rule will result in a warning. Three warnings will result in a month-long ban and loss of land (if applicable).
Rules may be changed, removed or added to at any time without warning.
