- - - - - x - - - - - His confidence was not misplaced, it seemed, for with a quick of course she settled into motion behind him, her dark copper limbs easily keeping pace with his long, supple strides.
Through the trees they moved, the dappled light trickling across Tira’s silver spine, and as he walked the King allowed a small grin of satisfaction to quirk his ivory lips. Flierye was a delicate creature, so sweet and mild, and it pleased the stallion to know that she would not fight the abrupt turn her path in life had taken. It showed great promise for her future. Hopefully, with time, her fear would subside and she would begin to enjoy her life with him, perhaps even evolving into a mare that the sabino monarch could appreciate for more than just her dazzling looks and submissive nature.
Some timed had passed since her last words, and the ancient trees had given way to open grassland as her angelic voice sounded from behind him. Tira flicked one silver ear backward, listening as she asked about the size of his herd before proceeding to explain the reason behind her query. That such a wonderful mare could have lived a life of solitude saddened the grullo King. In his eyes, Flierye appeared to be made for herd life. She had a warm-hearted nature and a willingness to please that made her a delight to be around, and the snow-dusted Alpha had no doubt the roan maiden would become an integral part of his life and the life of those within his valley realm.
"You will never be alone again, sweet Flierye," he reassured her, his deep baritone laced with sincerity as he glanced at her over his porcelain-mottled shoulder. "Whenever you want for company you need only call my name. Or, if you’re not as fond of me as I might wish, you will have plenty of other mares to spend time with." Although his attention had returned to the land they moved through, the wry smile upon his face was easily betrayed within his voice. Tira was not a fool. He knew it would take time for his ladies to warm up to him, and he was aware that some might never feel anything for him but hatred. However, he genuinely hoped the latter would not be the case with the roan angel that followed in his wake.
"Even now there are three ladies awaiting you within Rayo, all as pretty and kind as you are, so you will be sure to make friends." Tira hoped she would be pleased by his words because, despite his rather dastardly actions at times, the sovereign only ever wanted his ladies to be happy.
