Sunlight struggled to break through the clouds, its fight rotating between winning and losing when there was a break in the clouds, only to be almost instantly covered again by the whispy white stuff. The light that did escape through, found itself bouncing off a fillies pelt as she manouevered her way across the land. She was young, and not so worldly wise as she should be, to be alone. Sequoia was her name.
Her mind jittered between flashbacks of her homelands and it intermingled with where she was now, so that she felt disorientated and this brought her to an abrupt halt. Audits flicked forward nervously as nares expanded and contracted with her breathing. Body quivered. She had no idea where she was. Nor was she considering that she may well be on someone's land.
She pawed the ground, as she stretched up her head and shook, mane rippling down her nape as it fought to drop back into position. Hooves carried her forward suddenly, a jolting movement for a couple of strides before she stopped again, eyeing her surroundings. Yet nothing was going in. She closed her eyes and tried to block it out. Perhaps this was just a dream...

- - - - - x - - - - - The spring sun was high in the azure sky, and yet the world of Illyria was bathed in shadow. Rayo, too, was dull and grey; its open meadow and ancient forest deprived of light as the sun waged war with the pale clouds that skittered across the heavens.
For a while now Tira had been idly observing the fight, his scarred head held aloft as his blue eyes roamed the banks of fluffy white vapour. It was an odd way to pass the time, but the King had little else to do. The two mares he’d claimed where somewhere within his secluded vale, no doubt bemoaning their fate and cursing his name, but Tira had no inclination to find them. Let them sulk for a while. They would soon realise that, despite the underhanded way he’d claimed them, he really wasn’t too bad a fellow. He had his flaws, certainly, but he was a far cry better than some of the stallions out there.
With a small snort the monarch pulled his attention from the sky, his blue gaze shifted toward the entrance tunnel as he contemplated venturing forth in search of another pretty mare to claim. As he did so the clouds parted, the golden rays of the sun streaming down to illuminate a chocolate and vanilla mare that stood poised within his verdant meadow. What luck! He needn’t leave Rayo after all, for fate had delivered his next claim directly to his door.
An excited huff of air burst from his nostrils as Tira moved into a fluid canter, the wind of his motion fanning the inky tendrils of his mane and tail behind him as he advanced toward the female. In no time at all he was beside her, his pace quickly slowed to a walk as circled around her delicious frame, greedily eyeing her long chocolate-dipped limbs and the pale threads that adorned neck and rump. What a pretty thing she was, so young and comely. As he settled to a stop beside her, his smoke and ivory shoulder pressed against her bay one, he reached out and lightly pinched the mocha skin on her neck in a nip of ownership.
"Hello, kitten." In a beguiling purr he greeted her, a sly smile upon his lips and his blue eyes alive with amusement. "I’m glad you decided to come and live with me. I was getting rather bored." As his deep baritone faded away Tira reached out once more, running his pale lips along the sleek curve of her neck as he breathed deeply of her intoxicating perfume.

Hoofbeats pounding the ground, roused her senses as they drifted here and there and convinced her that this was indeed not a dream. Her hazel eyes looked out through her long eyelashes and she tried to focus on the figure that was making its way towards her. She felt her body begin to tremble as it became apparent to her, from the stature of the equine coming towards her that it was a stallion. She was on somebody's land.
-
She tried again to focus her attentions on studying the brujo coming towards her, but he reached her quickly and she had not had the time to process what she saw. As he nimbly danced around her, her body quivered again, and she flicked ber tail back and forth whipping it across her rump. The nip that he planted upon her neck startled her and she jolted forward a step.
-
What had she gotten herself into here? His words played through her ears and toyed with her mind... Hello kitten... decided to come and live with me.... I was getting rather bored...'I...I...my name is not Kitten.' Her voice trembled in unison with her body as she struggled to speak those words, weak and pathetic words, as though this male would care. She could tell he was pleased, his words seemed sarcastic even and she got the sense of dread within her bodice that she was to be a plaything of his. Though this was what life was like wasn't it? It was where she came from. And somehow she had noticed that the mares came to enjoy it...the attentions, the caressing, the touch. Perhaps this was the norm and what she had begun to dream about was just that. A dream. A mere flimsical dream. Don't kid yourself Sequoia, as if someone like you would find someone to truly love you, love is a weakness...

- - - - - x - - - - - On agile limbs she sprung away, the warm flesh of her neck pulled rudely from his caress as she reacted to his nip of claim with exaggerated surprise. There she stood, quivering with trepidation, clearly terrified by the way he acted. Tira allowed an amused smirk to toy with his pale lips, thoroughly entertained by her fear, and for a moment he wondered at the thoughts that careened through her pretty head.
No doubt she envisioned a life of servitude; chained to a brutal master that cared very little for her fate or feelings. Or perhaps she believed she would now be his newest chew-toy; a meek and mild slave that he could abuse and defile on a whim. If so, then she was not far from the truth, although it was not nearly as dark and sadistic as her overactive imagination might create.
While it was true that she was now chained to him for life, Tira was not the type to physically abuse his ladies, nor was he indifferent to their plight. The King treasured each and every mare he acquired. They were his collection, a pretty array of trinkets and baubles, and he cherished each and every one of them for their individuality and their beauty. So, while they may never be treated as his equals, they were far from the downtrodden, battered slaves that many assumed they would soon become.
I…I… my name is not Kitten.
The stuttered defiance of her words greeted his ears, invading his thoughts and effortlessly snaring his full attention. A slow smile appeared upon his ivory muzzle, mirth glittering within his blue eyes as he regarded her dainty, tremulous form. The spark of boldness was admirable from one so clearly caught in the grips of terror. It hinted at a feistiness lurking somewhere beneath the timid mask and, although the monarch disliked mares that constantly disobeyed him, a wench with a backbone was always welcomed. Such strong but submissive females were the ones he valued most.
"So what is your name then, kitten?" With his husky baritone he questioned her, cheekily placing emphasis on the endearment she so obviously loathed. He then returned his attention to her body, his teeth lightly raking along the concave of her spine that her sudden step forward had placed neatly beneath his eager muzzle. Perhaps a bit of poking and prodding might further awaken the spirited damsel he’d so briefly glimpsed.

She tried with all her might to stop her body from quivering again at his touch, as his pearled teeth travelled the length of her spine, but she couldn't and her body took over from her minds wishes and tremored. 'Sequoia.' Her voice this time was fluid and smooth, a confident undertone evident. She knew that this was it. Her life now. She did not even allow the thought that this stallion might let her leave ever, so the mind that had been courageous enough to make the decision to leave her home was revving back into gear. Stupidity had gotten her into this life-long...
She turned her body away from him, and faced him. 'And so may I be given the name of my... lead.' Many endings had run through her mind, captor just one of them. Abuser? Tormentor? She knew that he might not be any of these things, but that was what she had tried to escape from. She was annoyed at herself, her stupidity, she had managed for almost a year to not get caught. Stallion dodging she'd called it. And it had been fun. She wasn't oblivious to her....attractiveness to the opposite sex and there she had been thinking that she could actually find her own mate, using charm and feminine whiles to entice and seduce the one she wanted. Instead, life had thrown her plans up in the air and here she was- claimed. Well she'd be damned if she was going to be a meek little mare in his herd. OOC: Sorry if they are short and rubbishy- I am slowly getting back into it

- - - - - x - - - - - Despite the constant quivering of her flesh, the voice of the mare was strong and confident as she spoke her name. Tira smiled to himself, a small, triumphant grin, pleased to find that his initial assessment had proved correct. A self-assured vixen lurked beneath her mask of fear and timidity, and with each passing moment the true Sequoia was one step closer to emerging.
With an agile shift of her dainty hocks she pivoted her hind end away from his touch, turning to face him as she all but demanded his name. Instantly Tira wondered if he was remiss in preferring the confident Sequoia over the timid one. A mare with a backbone was one thing, but an insolent pain in the arse was a hassle he could well do without. He wasn't interested in some bitchy nag that wanted to fight and argue simply because her life hadn't turned out the way she'd expected. He simply wanted a mare that would accept his touch without shaking like a leaf, and that had enough confidence to return his banter. Was that really so much to ask?
"Tira-Kaan," he stated in his deep baritone, his pale lips quirked into the slightest of smirks as he regarded her with fathomless blue eyes. For now he was willing to indulge her sudden self-assurance, eager to see just how far she would take it. If her confidence overstepped the mark and turned into blatant disrespect then he would be forced to punish her, and would do so gladly. But if she used her brain, and behaved herself, then there was every possibility she could gain herself a higher rank.
"And your new home is called Rayo." As the silence settled around them Tira remained where he was, his silver rump swayed to one side as he cocked a hind hoof upon the soil. She had made it clear that his touch was not welcomed, and although he kept his distance, it was not out of respect for her wishes. His lack of interest in touching her body was a clear sign of the dangerous ground she now walked. Should she take a wrong step, then such indifference would be but a small taste of the hellish life she had freely chosen.

She listened intently as he spoke his name back. Tira-Kaan. Well it was indeed an elegant name for she what she saw was an elegant brujo. And her new home was called Rayo... She hadn't taken much notice of her surroundings as she had naively ventured into these lands, but she considered now as she looked briefly past Tira-Kaan that they were in fact rather nice and that they looked very well suited to supporting a herd.
She had noticed his expression changed when she had moved away from his touch and she knew instantly that it had perhaps riled him a little. She knew that she had to play this carefully. She knew this was to be her home, that was final, so she saw little point in making it into a painful lifetime experience. Perhaps here she could do what she had wanted to all along? Seduce, delight, have fun.
'Well Tira-Kaan, now that I know my leads name, it makes me feel so much more comfortable...in my new home.' A small smile formed upon her maw and her doe brown eyes looked to his for a reponse. She had clocked his change in demeanor, the offence perhaps taken by her moving her body away from him, preventing his touch, but she believed that even Tira would not expect a young mare who did not know him to accept his touch straight away. OOC: Sorry didn't have much time today, but if she might be suitable I wouldn't mind Sequoia being part of your heir plot.

- - - - - x - - - - - From beneath the inky veil of his forelock the King regarded his silver and mahogany belle, watching as her brown eyes shifted from his face to quickly take in the sunlit vista of her new home. Tira knew his secluded vale would not disappoint. It was an equine paradise, a place of verdant foliage and merry bird song, with lush, undulating grassland and an ancient, towering pine forest. There were many pretty places within Illyria, but none could compare to the isolated beauty of his valley home. Apparently Sequoia was satisfied with what she saw, for in no time at all her gaze returned to Tira, her lips parting as she made her decision. Flicking his silver ears forward the monarch listened to her speech, his blue eyes noting the small smile that accompanied her words and the steadiness of her brown gaze, pleased to find that a clever brain resided within her pretty head. He had not relished the thought of punishing her. She was far too appealing for that. However, not even her beauty could’ve saved her had she decided to be difficult. "Glad to hear it," he replied, his deep baritone holding a hint of mirth as a small grin toyed with his pale lips. "I might seem like a monster, Sequoia, but I’m really not that bad once you get to know me." Despite the humour lacing his voice Tira meant every word. Oh sure, he might force-claim mares and invade their personal space without a thought for their feelings, but in the grand scheme of things he was not nearly as scary as some of the evil-minded bastards that roamed the world. In time, she would realise that. - - - - - x - - - - - ooc: I replied in my plot thread. ^_^

Audits were pinned forward, listening intently to Tira's voice, the faint hint of humour playing pon' his words, but she believed what he said. If he was anything like the bastards he described in his speech she would know it by now. Her hazel eyes were captured to his, flicking away for a mere moment as she looked upon his body, his muscles primed beneath his smokey pelt. Her smile continued to show from her maw as she spoke back to his assurances.
'Well.. I am looking forward to getting to know you. Perhaps you might show me more of Rayo my new home, whilst we do just that, not that I have much of interest for you to quiz me on.' It was here that Sequoia felt a little sick in her stomach, like butterflies were battering their way around with no way out. She would appear very boring, as her story was a plain one. And strangely, she wanted to feel that Tira was satisfied in her, that he held some regard for her. She did not presume that his feelings towards her would ever be greater than his feelings to the rest of his mares, but she wanted his approval. An acceptance of her for her.
She looked back to him, awaiting his response, hoping that whatever questions she was asked she would be able to respond well enough, her future was in Rayo now and Tira was her lead.

- - - - - x - - - - - And realise that she did. She was eager to please, his dainty Sequoia, and it did not take her long to accept the truth of his words. The silver and bay belle knew what side her bread was buttered on, so to speak, and she had quickly learned the folly of her earlier brazen outburst. This pleased Tira immensely. Life was so much simpler when his ladies behaved themselves, and it wasn’t like he asked all that much of them. They were not treated as slaves, nor did he take pleasure in spilling their blood or constantly forcing himself atop their spine. He just wanted them to accept their new king without fuss, and tolerate his caresses without attempting to either maim him or flee. Speaking of caresses… As the sound of her voice faded Tira sidled toward her slender body, his thick chest soon pressed against the mahogany curve of her shoulder as he trailed his lips down the crimson hollow of her spine. At first he had kept his distance out of anger, refusing to touch her while she made up her mind about the kind of life she wished to lead within his valley home. And then, when she’d chosen correctly and had shown signs of warming up to him, he had refrained from touching her as a reward for good behaviour. Now, however, the King could no longer resist the silken shimmer of her scarlet curves. Every inch of her silver dappled figure begged to be caressed and, being the adoring stallion he was, Tira was obliged to comply. Sequoia might loathe his touch now, but eventually she would realise his caress was the highest form of praise. The moment he lost the desire to touch her was the moment he ceased to care about her, and if that happened then the best she could hope for was a merciful trade to an allied stallion, or death. "There isn’t all that much to see, really. Beyond the pond you see lies a large pine forest, and beyond the pine forest there is a cave." As he spoke Tira pulled his lips from her warm flesh, his blue eyes glancing briefly toward the pool he mentioned, before returning their fathomless depths to her ruby profile. "You’ll see it all eventually, though. For now, how about you tell me about this uninteresting life you’ve had so far." With one silver ear tilted in the direction of her head Tira returned to his exploration of her body, his teeth performing lazy circles upon her back as he waited to hear what she had to say. - - - - - x - - - - - ooc: Don't forget to include her stats with your posts, otherwise I shall have to don my admin cap and be bossy. Might be easier if you just create a character log and link to that in your siggy.
